i for inconceivable

It's true, Apple designs are truly masterpieces. But... come on, going Ga GA over this Apple watch that looks like one I had when I was 10 (long time ago) with features that exists for moths now. It's like religious people that go blindly after everything their religion stands for.

Swatch 80's

True they are not identical but still Ive I think you could have done better

The end is near

War... What is it good for?

War by definition is horrible, but I think, what this war is doing to us as people is unforgivable, and it makes me sick to my stomach. Right wing or let, religious or secular we are destroying each other in a such a way that the devastating results will last way after the dust settles.
A thing that became clear to me long ago but really intensified during this conflict, is the fact that people only want to be with others that look, talk or see things exactly like them and that's the root of all evil.
I think that by putting "I believe" or "I thinks" in front of a post or sentence will make a hell of a difference, plus expressing ones opinion doesn't have to mean dismissing the other's.
But even worst than all that is the fact that "thanks" to social networks, people use!!! Information that is often false or one-sided and pass it on as a fact. That is by far more dangerous and immoral than any opinion. This is P.R at its worst form.

But of course, this is only my opinion.

And now for something completely different... I found a dragon in my front yard

Fighting for peace? Or a piece of fight

We are now "officially" in a ceasefire. Or are we. The Hamas and the Israelis have agreed to disagree. The Egyptians offered to be mediator and proposed a ceasefire agreement.
The basic terms are the complete cease of any aggression from both sides and the opening of the passages. That means that goods like food, medicine, building materials etc. can enter the Gaza strip freely.
So far Israel has agreed, Hamas for now has not.
Meanwhile the rockets fire continues and so does the suffering of people on both sides. Now, both sides are looking to get out of this conflict with an upper hand, but it seems that each side has a different interpretation or idea for what upper hand actually means.
So is it going to be a deja vu of past agreements? Is this conflict going to end once and for all and this area will be on its way to lasting peace? Or maybe, we're still on our way to nowhere?

Peace, out

Yesterday night around seven, we heard the first siren. We live in Tel Aviv in an old neighborhood so our houses don't have any safe rooms. So we, that means my 9 and 7 years old daughters, my wife and myself had to go to our second toilet room which is located under the staircase and its the size of a small lift with a diagonal ceiling. Sounds funny I know.
When you look at all this without prejudice (not easy) it's quit a surreal and even funny way of life. In our modern life history for the past 65 years we all live in this crazy country and even crazier situation. Politics and believes aside this place is insane, no kid or adult for that matter should live like this in any society. It's now 08:31 and as I am writing this another siren is heard, waiting for the "boom" to know when it's over, a fall or a hit by Kipat Barzel (Iron Dome, another great Israeli invention).
But for me it is a temporary situation. For thousands of kids in the south of Israel and in the Gaza strip this is a way of life. Just writing this, is enough to make you crazy. But we all know, the world doesn't really give a fuck and apparently this is going to go on for a very long time... War, quiet, war, quiet and so on and so forth.
There is a say "if you can't beat them, join them" but I don't believe it works here for either side of the conflict, so maybe this will: "Get used to it or get the fuck out", (again, that goes for both sides of course). Well I really want to get out because I don't believe we should get used to this ,but I guess I am here for the long run :-(
So till the next missile. Peace out.

Upstairs Downstairs

My cell is on its last legs, it's slowly dying. It's not that it doesn't work, it's just slow and uncooperative. So the real question now is: "To upgrade or downgrade?".
Think about it. In today's world, it is a legitimate question or even a state of mind one can arrive to after living along side a smart phone. Do I stay in touch and available 24/7, while damaging my concentration at work and my real life relations or, I downgrade, get of the grid, thus improving my real life connections while maybe loosing my spot within the online society on the way?
It seems like we got to a point in which we have to make some decisions. Where do we go from here? Do we submerge ourselves into online leaving (which we already do) or completely detach ourselves from it? And is it really a black and white question?
I seem to be able to do both. That is, staying online and "connected" while enjoying real life connections and experiences, but for how long? One can not live in a vacuum. And there is another issue, I do love gadgets. So... I will sign off now, I guess you will know my decision soon enough.

The color of a great city

Tel Aviv, my city, my team, what a victory. It seems like Maccabi Tel Aviv is a team with a country behind it. Even the Olympic games didn't bring out so many people to the streets, what only proves the point that this great city is a country within a country. We always say that Tel Aviv doesn't really reflect what is going on in Israel (I for one am very happy for that), but in cases like these you get the chance to see the rest of the country without any political / financial / social differences. I do believe (call me naive) that if that was the case always and the rest of the country was in fact as Tel Aviv we would have been in a much better place.
So Mazal Tov to Maccabi Tel Aviv for winning the European cup (never figured out what connection we have to Europe but we'll leave it at that) and may the celebrations continue :-)

Self post

There is a new (not so new) craze that is swiping the land...The Selfie. This thing is going through my mind for quite some time. Why the hell are people taking photos of themselves and posting them all over? Clearly you don't really look you best in a Selfie. Well some actually still look good but in most cases you look a bit off. So what or why is it? After much selfie deliberation I have decided that the main reason for this is as always the lack of self confidence. Some of you may say I disagree, some will probably say, where is the news and some may say I agree (as usual those are the ones that matter :-) SO it's as simple as this. If you are not famous and don't have people running after you to take your picture, you might as well do it yourself. True, Celebes are doing it too but, that's already a craze so it doesn't count. I figured my blog is not much different, no one is writing about me so...  here's a Selfie inside a blog

Dust in the wind

Whether or not it is a true story, I know what the Israelis must have felt like in the desert. Last week I traveled with the family to the Jordan valley for an over night tent experience. We arrived at this godforsaken hole just before noon. The car's outer thermometer showed 45c (give or take a degree because it doesn't really matter). The place was for a lack of better words: desert-ed. So after caring all the stuff from the car (my wife packed the whole house) we put up the tents. Lucky for us it cooled down a bit, but then... a sand storm came out of nowhere and took the tents with all that was in them. After re-building them for the third time and moving them to a lower location we were finally able to relax. So true or false, 40 years or less, matza or bread, there is no wonder we Israelis love to bitch and complain.

40 years and counting

The Jewish ingenuity never seizes to amaze me. But what really happened (if indeed it did) in the desert? You had 40 years in there, couldn't you guys invent some kind of yeast free bread (not matza)? 40 long years, and now, thousands of years later all the Jews have to suffer and eat this Ikea MDF look-alike and taste alike.
It's true that there are worst things and that I for one don't really eat this but still my fellow Israelis suffer year after year. So in the name of conspiracy theories I've decided that this is all the drug companies' fault. I mean how can one go for a whole week of matza without some laxative, correct me if I am wrong. And that's not all, matza balls, eggs with salty water, cakes from matza etc.
I did write a while ago the definition of a Jewish holiday: "They tried to kill us, they didn't succeed, let's eat", but really "they tried to kill us? Maybe, but do we have to continue for ourselves?
Happy holidays :-)

Go Go gadget

It's finally here, my own GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition :-) and I am as happy as a child tasting his first ice cream. So say hello to my little friend and brace yourselves, because soon you'll be able (want it or not) to join me on my wild and not so wild experiences...

Great minds...
